Like Fine Coffee

Here is my take on this weeks SCS sketch challenge. Man I love this paper (well this side anyways, not so keen on the flip side!). I have been very tired and run down lately (darn cold, kids in my class have been coughing all over me for weeks!), so I could only come up with something simple. It is simple but I like it. I embossed the cups and sentiment with Gel a Tins Cuppa Joe scented embossing powder. I also dropped some Cappucino Card Scents on the ribbon knot. The coffee cups are on foam squares. Stamp: Coffee Cup (Hero Arts); sentiment (inkadinkadoo ?)
Paper: Perfect Day level 2 (CTMH)
ribbon: CTMH
dots: Stampingbella

RAK from Jena!

So I got a package in the mail today and it was from Jena! Isn't this awesome! I have been wanting to do one of these for a long time (even scooped up some old ones when I was librarian last year). It is my favorite paper pack too, I just love it! Thanks so much Jena - by the way I will get to the Post Office tomorrow with your Blog Candy winnings!

Perfect Day Birthday

Now it really would be a Perfect Day if... I looked like that and had time to myself to sit and enjoy a cup of Chai Latte! No sketch - I did this one all by myself! I have to say I think I have a new color combo: Juniper and Cocoa (this Perfect Day paper is AWESOME); tough call between that and pink and brown! The Hanna and the table are on foam squares. Stamps: Hanna and table (Hanna Stamps); sentiment (CTMH)
Paper: Perfect Day level 2; Cocoa and White Daisy cardstock (CTMH)
ribbon: walmart
dots: Stampingbella

Blingy Wreathabella

I managed to get some Mojo back tonight, when I worked on this weeks Bella Sketch Challenge. Funny story... when I first started out making cards many years ago it was simple. I stamped if I really challenged myself I had one paper layer and I was happy, stress free and satisfied with all of my cards. I said back then, "I would never color something in or cut anything out, way too time consuming" Fast forward to the present, I color, cut things out, layer, sew, add thingys etc. and I am usually stressed about it... it needs more... what else can I do... and so on. I am not sure if this card making, scrapbooking thing really is a stress relief after a long day or not... perhaps it just adds to it! Bella's dress and hat have fun flock, her boots have been glittered and fun flocked and she is on foam squares. Stamps: Wreathabella (Stampingbella); sentiment (Hero Arts)
Papers: Citrus Leaf; Holiday Red; Clover Meadow (CTMH)
rhinestones (red and white): CTMH
ribbon: unknown
punch: Marvy

Sunflower Friend

This is a sketch from Pageplans: This is my card, not all that satisfied with it either, it's late I have had a busy weekend so no mojo left! I think I'll empty the dishwasher as it does not seem to be doing it on it's own then off to bed for another busy week. All supplies except sunflower stamp are CTMH.

Easter

So I am not in love with this layout. I never really did like this background paper, so why I ever ordered it in bulk is beyond me! I don't mind the Harlequin paper but the flowered one is just not doing anything for me. However, being the anal person that I am I refuse to waste the paper so I have to use it up (almost there!). On top of that, I love pink but have always struggled with Pink Carnation, not sure why.

What I do like about this layout:

I used my Create a Shade paint finally - on the Dimensional Monograms
I used my new (well had it for a long time but never used it!) sizzix die to cut the flourishes out of cardboard destined for the recycling bin.
That I completed another page!

Three Cupcakes for you

Here is Taylor's sketch this week. This is what I came up with. An easy card - well easy if you don't include the 2 failed attempts! I tried other images but they just didn't work for this sketch so I went to cupcakes! The cupcakes are on foam squares, have been glittered and have liquid glass on the hearts.
Stamps: Cupcakes (inkadinkadoo); sentiment (CTMH)
ribbon, liquid glass and rub ons (CTMH)
Paper: Chocolate, Baby Pink and White Daisy cardstock (CTMH)
cuttlebug and copics.

Bella Gift Box

The Bella Friday Challenge this week is an Anything Goes Challenge. The item has to be 3D and has to have bling. I think I have done that. The OCC challenge is to do a handmade item. This fits that challenge too! Yay! Inside this box I will put some yummy chocolates (the girls and I always make some homemade turtes and other chocolates at Christmas time) and a Starbuck gift card. To top it off I have scented the bottom of the box with Cappucino Card Scents!

And the Winner is....

Thank you everyone for entering my blog candy challenge, I hope you now send the card out to someone and let them know you are thinking of them!

congrats Jena, I'll mail your goodies out next week!

Blog Candy Alert

Scroll down for new posts, this one will remain at the top until October 24th

I just realized that I am over 20000 hits so it is time for some blog candy! I am not sure what it will be yet, will get a pic up this weekend. All you have to do is since I love pink so much and am really into ribbon lately, create a 'just because' card using pink and ribbon. Post your creation on your blog and then link here. For an extra chance at winning, in your post tell others about my blog candy and link it to my blog. Easy peesy! You have until next Friday October 24th, I will then pick a winner. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Good luck everyone!

Finally able to upload a pic to my computer, not sure what is happening. Anyhow, here is the blog candy. I will also include a couple of my handmade cards.

Dear Santa

I used this weeks SCS sketch challenge and inked up a new House Mouse stamp. The image is colored with copics. I used liquid glass on the chocolate chips and the candle. Happy Hello from a Sugar Nellie

I haven't done a sketch using the CPS sketch for awhile so I wanted to try this one: I also incorporated this weeks SCS color challenge using pink, green and brown (I so LOVE this color combo!). I whipped this one up last night using some retired CTMH paper. The sentiment and image are on foam squares.

Colors: Cocoa, Sweet Leaf, Baby Pink

Off to the Canucks!

Although this is another simple layout - lacking a bit of mojo with my layouts lately - I did use a lot of stamp sets! All supplies are CTMH except the flourish and bracket stamp.

Oh dear, I see that I have lost the dot to my exclamation mark, off to fix that! LOL

Classic Happy Birthday

This is Beate's sketch for this week: Here is my super simple card. I went into my scraproom tonight and this paper was still out so I wanted to try it out. I did not add a lot of froo froo to it as I wanted a simple, classic, masculine look. I think I like these quick no fuss things I have been making lately! Most supplies are from CTMH.
Stamps: Express Postage; Make it Count; Coffee Stain (all CTMH) and truck image (PSX)
Papers: Game On level 2; Outdoor Denim and Bamboo cardstock
pewter accents: unknown, courtesy of Eulanda

Family

This is definately not one of my favorite layouts (not a fan of blue), but I was trying to make this page match with another one page layout that used the same DP, but I pulled out the blue in this pic to go with it. It is a simple layout (like that - no sewing etc), and I completed it rather quickly (like that too!), so overall it is ok!

Here is Taylor's sketch for this week:

I also used the Bellaholics Color Challenge for this week (Amethyst, Black and Vanilla) and this is what I came up with. These Bellas are just sitting back enjoying some good old chocolate! 4 in One Challenge!

I incorporated 4 challenges into this card, yay me! First off I used this weeks SCS color challenge (black, pink and white - not a challenge for me!), and SCS sketch for this week. I then finally did something for the OCC challenge a couple weeks ago 'Bring on the Bling'- I think I have some bling here. Finally, for the Verve October Project Parade the challenge is to incorporate some embossing. I used a cuttlebug on the pink paper and the purse is stamped with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I LOVE this card, although it is so not me! Here is the inside of my card:
Stamps: Purse (Inkadinkadoo); Background Flourish (Flourishes); French Script - on the purse (Hero Arts); sentiment (Stampingbella)

Off for Dinner!

We are all heading to BIL's for Thanksgiving Dinner. He lives out of town so I won't be posting anymore today. I am thankful to be invited somewhere for dinner but I will miss the turkey leftovers next week! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

All You Need

Here is Beate's sketch this week (another circle!) Here is what I came up with, used 2 new stamp sets. Merry Christmas Cupcakeabella

This week the Friday Challenge over at Bellaholics is a Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch: I decided to try using Cupcakeabella (one of my favs) to make a Christmas card. I got the inspiration some time ago on another blog (sorry can't remember which one). This Bella is all decked out and ready to go in her fun flocked velvet dress with sparkly shoes and dots on her dress! The dress dots and cherry of cupcake have stickles on them. Bella is on foam squares.

Stamps: Cupcakeabella (Stampingbella); Sentiment and Holly (CTMH); Flourish Background (Flourishes)
Paper: White Daisy, Citrus Leaf, Holiday Red, Tulip cardstock (CTMH)
Circle Window Charm (CTMH)
Embellies: ribbon (unknown); glitter and stickles; fun flock, liquid applique

HM Life is Good

No sketch for this one, I came up with it all by myself! (LOL) With these House Mouse Stamps there is not a lot of room for much else on the card front if you use a standard sized card. Good thing though, since it took me forever to color! On the spoon I glued on a bit of coffee grounds, now just waiting for my Card Scents to arrive to make this card really yummy!

You're so Sweet SC197

This weeks SCS sketch challenge: Here is my simple card. I will be so sad when I use up my last bit of this retired paper, I still love it. All cupcake images are on foam squares. The smaller 2 have liquid glass and sparkles for icing. The larger one has brown liquid applique and coffee grounds. A very simple card, no sewing, not a lot of coloring, so it went together quickly!
Paper: Cocoa Cafe (CTMH)
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo
ribbon: Wal Mart

Style is Eternal

The Bella Sketch Challenge for this week:
I finally tried it only I didn't use a Bella. I though this American Art Stamp and the Sentiment (Whipper Snapper) worked well together!

Sticker shock

Here is Jen's sketch this week: I tell you, I am not into circles and ovals, and the majority of the sketches lately have been with them. So if you can't beat them, I guess you have to join them! This is what I came up with. I not only do not normally do circles I almost never use stickers. I don't buy them for myself, but once in awhile for my kids. I received these pretty vellum stickers in a RAK once, not sure where from (sorry), probably Eulanda. They are so pretty. I decided to try them in this sketch. I think it turned out ok. I cuttlebugged the background, used a SU! oval punch and bella gems. The main snowflake is on foam squares as is the sentiment.
Paper: Heavenly Blue, White Daisy cardstock, Colonial White Textured cardstock (CTMH)
Sentiment: So Sweet Seasons (CTMH)
Ribbon: CTMH

Happy Thanksgiving

Here is Taylor's sketch for this week. I normally don't do much with circles and ovals, I'm a square/ rectangle kinda gal. However, I thought this sketch worked well with my new Whipper Snapper stamp so I tried it out. We are going to BILs for Thanksgiving Dinner so this is the card I will give to them. The main circle is on foam squares and so is the image. I colored it in with my copics.
Stamps: Turkey (Whipper Snapper); grass and cornstalks (inkadinkadoo); sentiment (CTMH)
Paper: Abundance level 2 (CTMH)
ribbon and metal clips unknown

So happy to have something new to look at besides my ugly card!
