Great Grandma

The sketch this week from Creative Scrappers:

Another old, not that great of picture.  This one was taken in the summer of '98 and it is of my grandma with Danica.  My grandma passed away in 2001 and she was really the only grandparent I had growing up so she was very special to me.  I used some my Sassafrass goodies.  Mostly Indie Girl, the background paper is from Vintage Yummy.  The clouds are from a Spellbinders Die , the Sun is cut with my Cricut - Simply Charming and of course the letters are American Crafts Thickers (trying desperately to use up my huge stash!)

5 Months

I played along with Stuck sketches and used this sketch:

I finally broke into my Sassafras Lass Indie Girl papers.  They were the perfect colors for this photo I found of me and Jaimee.  I didn't not have a digital camera back then (15 years ago) so this was a picture my mom had on a calendar that I had made for her so I scanned it.  Not the best picture but at least I have it scrapped.  I didn't scrapbook yet when Jaimee was a baby so I am happy to do a few pages of her.  I also paper pieced some cute Unity stamps.  The title uses some American Crafts Thickers.

December 1969

So I started out with this sketch from The Scrappiest:

I kind of morphed it, but the basics are still there.  My mom just showed me this photo of me and my Great Grandfathers back in 1969 (I was 2), LOVE seeing photos like this.  So I scanned it and the writing that was on the back and of course the Circa 1934 papers from Cosmo Cricket were perfect.  I got a package of these doilies for about 50 cents at a thrift store!

Celebrate, celebrate, celebrate

Sadly this is my last post as a Designer for Shirley's 2 Girls, it has been so fun!  Our Twist this week is New Years - incorporate something that says New Years like balloons, confetti, you name it!

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop:

I used the Bo Bunny Winter Joy papers for this, isn't it fun!  The sentiment is from Schlosser Designs.

Happy Birthday Dad

I love this weeks colors by Color Q

I used sketch 178 from CPS:

I used some digi papers from Sweet Shoppe called Press Play along with a new Schlosser Stamp Set.  The letter stickers are from October Afternoon.  Such a simple masculine card.  Oh and I loved creating in my newly cleaned scraproom!  This is also for the City Crafter challenge - stamp it; the Party Time Tuesdays challenge -anything goes and the I Did it Challenge - use something new (the papers and stamp).

Garden Journal

This is my first post as an Amber Inklings Torch Bearer!

The challenge this week is to make something that will keep you organized.  I decided to make a garden journal to write down info on the garden as needed. I used the fun Grow Green image, doesn't she work well with the Cosmo Cricket papers?!
Be sure to stop by the Amber Inklings blog to see what every one else has whipped up today!

Updated pics of my craft room

So today I went shopping with the girls.  While they were at the mall I snuck into Michael's.  I was excited to see their organizers on sale for half price and on top of that I had a 25% coupon!  See that lovely organizer there with the 3 drawers... amazing how a $30 find can make me so happy!

Since I spent yesterday tidying and purging in the scraproom I thought I would share some other pics of my room too.

And another new item for me... see the sign above my desk... I just got that from EAD Designs, I love it!

Sorry no post today, we have had a great Christmas with lots of family around.  I haven't had any scrappy time  and today I am taking the girls shopping, they have gift cards burning a hole in their pocket.  Hoping to play in the scrap room tomorrow!

Last of the Gifties!

The last of my little gifties!  Danica used this for a friend of hers along with a Starbucks gift card.  I used the Echo Park Wintertime papers along with an Elle's Studio tag.

Another Upcylced tin

Today is my day at the Scrap Shotz blog and the theme for today is Anything But.... anything but a card or layout.  I upcycled another tin with the fabulous Echo Park Wintertime Papers.  I gave this to my Educational Aide for Christmas and I filled it with some homemade hazelnut hot chocolate.

Some Blog Candy

This will remain at the top until December 23rd please scroll for my new posts.

Like everybody else I am extremely busy this week (and last week) I don't have a lot of creating time as along with working in the day, we have band concerts, meetings, Christmas concerts dinners you name it, we have done it.  I have only had a couple of nights free time in the last couple of weeks.  Anyhow, enough whining from me.

I have been so lucky this past year with Publications, contests and Guest DT on major blogs.  With that has come a lot of free goodies.  I can barely get into my craft room  (although truth be told most of it is due to the mess I have left in the craziness of creating on a tight schedule!).  I would love to share some of my goodies because as you can see... I am pretty close to 500 followers!  Me 500 followers, I can't believe it!  I haven't had time to gather the blog candy and photograph it but I do know that there will be a Maya Road Tree Chipboard album, some Making Memories goodies, and some other stuff.  When I have time I will post the winnings but here are the deets for your chance to win.

I LOVE Santa.  Especially the vintage looking, jolly Santa like this one on this old Christmas card I have kept.  In order to qualify I would love to see what you can do with this image, I have a couple of ideas but I know that you talented people will come up with so much more.  Make a card, or any project with this image and enter with the Mr. Linky below.  This will remain open until Thursday December 23rd midnight PST.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I have given you a couple of images here to work with, one where the lighting has been altered the other as is, you can use which ever you want.  Can't wait to see what you do with it!

I would also love it if you could spread the word around!

This is now closed, stay tuned for the winner!

Christmas Greenery

Some more stuff that has kept me busy.

I have always shied away from floral arranging... mine never look any good.  Well I decided this year to give it another go... my first scrapbook page is nothing special either! LOL  So I went out into the bush and gathered some cedar branches, then came home and went to work.  I also made a couple other small ones that I gave as 'just because' gifts for the neighbors.

I am giving these to my parents and inlaws and one is for myself.  I did have fun doing them and I know they are not professional looking but I'm okay with that, I love fresh greenery.  The bits and pieces I cut off are scattered throughout my home and the branches are in a container.

Some Christmas Decorations

The challenge at The Studio is to take a picture of something that puts you in a holiday mood.  I took a few.

I just made this block this year but I love it.

My kids made these over 10 years ago and these poor little guys have been through a lot.  When we moved towns... I didn't let the movers pack these guys, they rode in the car with me!

I purchased a Norman Rockwell hard cover book.  I picked out some Santa pictures (I love Santa), scanned them and then printed them for some decorations.

Love this one!

Finally, this is very Christmasy for me.  I hand painted this over 10 years ago too and I still love it!  I do miss painting but so little time now to do everything I want to do.

Photo Blocks

Some more 2 x 4 block ideas for you.  I LOVE these blocks!  Not only are they a fantastic decoration but they are so quick, easy and inexpensive to make (especially when your dad gives you the blocks all sanded and ready, hehehe).  I just painted them with black acrylic paint then adhere the photos.  Another project done in about an hour... love that!  I made a few sets as they are gifts for family members this year.  What do you think?

Now I really should do some baking!
