Lazy Thoughts

When I saw the CASology challenge I knew I had to play along and use more of my Emoji Love by Simple Stories and this time I paired it with Sassy Lazy Thoughts by Technique Tuesday - they pair up well don't you think?

For both cards, I fussy cut the main image from the pattern paper and then mounted on foam squares.
On this first card, I added a couple of paper scraps to the corners and stitched for some interest.

This next one is for a sketch challenge, and I kept it very simple, just added some staples for interest.

Now there is still time to link up for this week's Inspired By Challenge.... ends tonight!

Coffee Break inspiration

I am up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog with another Inspiration Challenge for you so be sure to pop on over there to see what inspired my card, and of course to play along.

I used some SU! and CTMH papers and I finally used my Cut File from The Cut Shoppe... I love Ashley's style and she has so many different options in her shop!

I paired the cut file with a coffee stain stamp by Darkroom Door. I also combined a couple of CAS-ual Fridays stamp sets:  Time for Coffee and Cup of Coffee.

I decided to create another card based on the inspiration, this one of course had to be tea themed ;)  I used the Cup of Tea stamp from Unity.  I mounted the tea bag on foam squares.

Notice that cute little button... that is from A Flair For Buttons... have you ever used them?  So many fun designs to choose from there is something for everyone!

Oh and one more thing....

I have been asked to be a member of the A Flair For Buttons Design Team!!!!

so excited!

Now be sure to hop on over to the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog to find out more.

And Suddenly You Just Know....

I am squeezing in this card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge

I used the In Bloom collection by My Mind's Eye.  I fussy cut the border of flowers and then adhered them to the card.

I stamped the sentiment from Journee Girl by Unity, cut it apart and adhered it.

Scrappy Sunday - Summer Fun

Another Scrappy Sunday today and then I just might have to head out for a run... finally some sun!

Anyways, I am playing along with the Scraplift Sunday challenge at Paper Issues.  I used my Saltwater collection by Elle's Studio.  Love that I am using up some older stashes.

I incorporated some SRM Stickers and an Echo Park die (the bucket and shovel)

I also cut out my title and the popsicle with my Silhouette.  The popsicle and bucket are mounted on foam squares.

And the layout that I am playing along with:

Sketchy Saturday....

Sketchy Saturday... yep you read that right.... I'm going to be sharing some sketches right here on my blog.  I love sketches, they are such a great starting point for my cards and layouts... but I often switch them up a little.  Today though... I stayed pretty much on.

I have used the Dream Big collection by Fancy Pants.

I added a few layers and the main floral ephemera is mounted on foam squares.  The dies are from PTI.

Here is the sketch that I created and went by:

Using a sketch as a starting point to create different looks

I am up on the Unity Blog today, sharing how I start with a basic card sketch and altering it slightly to create different looks.  Be sure to pop on over as I have 4 sketches up and of course lots more photos and information.

I have used some older Heidi Swapp papers... still some of my favorite papers along with several Angie Girls from Unity.

Be sure to check out the Unity post for more information.

A couple of 'purrrfect' cards

Thursday means another Inspired By challenge is up so be sure to pop on over to see what the design team has created!

I was actually inspired to create 2 cards for the challenge.  I saw one of the images as a cat so I pulled out my Meow collection My Mind's Eye and created a couple of cards.

First up, I was inspired to create this one.  I wanted to convey a celebration type of card... complete with 'drink' ;)  The sentiment in the pink bubble is from CAS-ual Fridays.

I mounted the cats on foam squares for some dimension.

Next up, I was also inspired by the heads in the photo so I created a group card.

Once again, the heads are mounted on foam squares.  This time the sentiment is from PTI.

Here is the inspiration photo... see what I did there?!  Now head on over to see what the design team has created... oh and do play along!
